A Corgi JU-88 Gets "Wellenmustered"

Post by Epap » Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:04 am

I just finished converting a Corgi BOB JU-88 into a version that wore the unusual "Wellenmuster" attack scheme in the Mediterranean, circa 1943. Thought I'd share some pictures. First, here's a shot of the original model from a sellers website ( actually, its missing some markings and has an A-4 canopy, when the actual model had an A-1 canopy with a single machine gun facing to the rear ):

Very cool. How did you create the effects?

Thanks. I did all of the squiggly stuff by hand and made corrections using a very fine tipped brush dipped lightly in thinner. Spraying would have taken too long and after I weathered the model, it's hard to see the difference.

Fantastic job on the camo pattern, Ed. 8)

That would be very tough to do, and you have pulled it off perfectly.

Is that a Mediterranean camo? I think I have seen it before.

Looks NICE! 8) :o
