Sherman Firefly

Post by exether_mega » Sat Aug 14, 2010 8:46 am

Hi guys,

here is my Firefly project slowly taking shape. It was on hold waiting for Pickelhaube parts (they are realy great !)

Uper and lower hull has been textured with Tamiya putty. Weld marks are made with putty too. Turrret and transmission cover block has been textured with Cast-A-Coat.

First coat of paint is applied. More to come soon.

It has been a long wait hasn't been Phil ?

I was threatoning to make this custom over a year ago and told you that I was not going to do it.

Things change :D

I hope it was worth the wait.

Your rendition sure looks great.
When I was making the prototype parts I found out that it was a Firefly tank that killed Wittman. I always heard that he was taken out by Allied bombings.

But after a lot time and effort it was calculated to be the Firefly.

That would be a cool diorama to make. :D
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

Thanks for your positive comments guys

As you say Pickel, it has been a long wait but it was worth the wait ! Your kit add the final touch to my project that was in stand-by for a year or so.

Funny that you talk about Wittman as I was thinking to do the firefly who shoot him...

Anyway, thank you very much for your great kit (equal to a Verlinden production) and for keeping the hobby alive !
