Aussie Red Roo 'Stang

With too many P-51's in hand, I'd thought to represent one of the more unusual schemes. While not 100% the decision was made to limit the chances to mess up the perfectly fine work BBI made to provide us with a P-51 of what is a modern warbird flying the circuits.

The national markings and fin flash are a little oversize to cover the existing markings. The large letter fuselage codes would not be present, but removing them would involve destroying the entire finish, something I'm not prepared to do.

According to photos, the red 'roo was applied to the fuselage only leaving standard RAF type roundels on the wings.

The time period for this would be the mid-late '50's as the RAAF was changing their national markings. The Mustang at this time was relegated to ground attack and training.

The rockets came from BBI's Corsair and the decals from Vexillarius, who I owe a big thank you.

Next up will be an Algerian MiG-15. This will be more involved since it showed as a mixture of parts, Russian mig with one North Korean wing. So no concerns about messing up the thing, it came messed up!!

Really nice job. I like it alot. It's always cool to see post-WW2 markings for Mustangs.

The Red Roo's are awesome! Great job and a welcomed improvement over the original scheme!
