Trying something new in a dio

Post by V2 MAN » Fri Jun 13, 2008 4:32 pm

Thought i would try something that ive always wanted to do in a dio  Just to let you know that no photoshopping was used. Here it is and let me know what you think 8)

A sherman has just received orders from command and has been told to move out of enemy territory and return to base to regroup due to increasing sightings of germans heading in that direction. He was also told that some are armed with anti tank weapons and to hightail it outa there.

The sherman then starts up and prepares to move out.

WHEN SUDDENLY..............

A unseen german fires a panzerfaust and just barely misses the sherman.

Heres how i did it,
yes I did use a firecracker.
i used bottlerockets,
first I took the stick off of the rocket,
then I dug a small little hole next to where I wanted it to go off,
I then burried it in the hole with the fuse barely sticking out of the ground,
Also make sure the bottle rocket is facing downwards into the ground.
I then set my camera in the position i wanted it to be and set the timer,
then i lighted the fuse layed down by my camera and made sure it was still in the position I wanted it to be in.
Then boom you get a great picture with debris and all in the air.

Luckily my camera didnt end up with a cracked lense from a small pebble.
The tank wasnt even damaged

Good work with the pyrotechnics :D I was doing some dio work this weekend and the thought crossed my mind that smoke effects were necessary for what I was doing, but alas, its not a good idea to start fires in the dry brush in the mountains of California
