Question about paints

Post by Morian Miner » Sun Feb 03, 2008 10:01 pm

Someone was posting some images of unproduced GI Joe items. One thing I noticed was on the 2.5" figures, they kept referencing "Pantone" paints.

I seem to remember a discussion before that toy companies seems to keep what paints they use close to their vest. Does Pantone make a line of paints that would be suitable for painting plastics, or is this just a way to reference a specific color mix?

I know the paints Hasbro use hold up real well to repeated handling, something some of the other model paints don't.

Thanks, Schizuki. I'm thinking, based on your comments, the Pantone number just references what "color" they want, not the specific paint.
