Tail Codes and Numbers painted...
I finally got around to painting the Bureau Number, Tail Codes and adding a few decals to "pimp-out" this ride. It was risky but I had to go balls-to-the-wall and take a shot with creating and cutting out stencils for the lettering and numbers. Other extras include the 'Disco Light' complete with individual cut metallic "tiles" , Satellite communications antenna, GPS locator, Forward and Aft Plume detectors and a set of Laser detection modules (These resemble stop lights but with 4 beacons) I also decided to go ahead and spray the main rotor blades dull gray... Lastly I'd like to give a shout-out to Mark B. a former HCS-5 Squadron member, door-gunner/rescue-swimmer who by happenchance, stumbled upon photos of my helicopter project and has been extremely instrumental in providing technical advice and even a history of the actual helicopter!

Nope. The picture is my Father who is a Korean War Vet (US.Army M.P.) He has always been my Hero. He came out to vistit me at Ft. Campbell and I took that pic at the museum on post. I am a Special Ops Helicopter Avionics instructor (MH-47's and MH-60's). My dad has always been a WW2 Aircraft lover and passed on the love to me at an early age. How many kids get to build WW2 aircraft models with dad? Maybe a few of us but not most of the kids today.MiG29K wrote:No way MAN...that CANNON you have on your icon rocks...is that you? Thanks man! Naval Aviation all the wayy. Is that a quad .50?Tambo wrote:Dude that Rocks!
Don't want to get off track of your thread and your amazing conversion.
Just wanted to pop in and say, my gosh that is amazing work. I've been wanting to turn my Blackhawk into an MH-60L, but even cutting out the windows for the gunner positions is a daunting task. What you've done here goes beyond anything I've even contemplated doing to mine, and it's seriously professional quality.
