WOW! I recently bought all of the Conte Germans and I actually just finished painting this very guy (mine had all his imbs though :) ). Your guy looks a WHOLE lot like mine (you sure you didn't steal it from me  ?). What type of paints did you use? The skin color looks pretty good, can't get mine away from an ugly pinky color.

BTW I'll post some pics of my Conte Germans once I'm all done. Do you have any more Germans your working on? Post pics if you do

Thanks. I only did this one guy from the set so far so I could see how it would turn out. But eventually I will be doing the others. I used mostly Model Master acrylics, what do you use? Im not sure of what the flesh color was called that I used but I was thinking of try something else. Cant wait to see yours when you are all done.

I have found that some parts and bodies I'm able to "paint" with Sharpie permenent marker pens :) So I'm slowly going to paint over my DAK figures to join my troop in the Euro theater. Then I will paint over my DAK custom motorcycle with side car I bled for on Evil bay to match the other 2 I have ;) Herr General

DAK convert

Here is the first DAK converted figure.

Image

I think he needs a touch more gray on the uniform. The flash seems to "cut" thru the gray, but looking at it in regular light, I don't notice the brown underneath  I had changed out his arms with those from a Hugo figure and filed down his boot laces to look like normal standard issue boots. I painted the belt and straps, plus I did the buttons and insignia, etc. in silver. Lastly, I used a filed down PTE soldier's head with a 21st C helmet :)

Not too bad for a first try. I'd need to post a better picture without the flash bleed over ;) I have a couple dozen of the DAK soldiers and officers to do now :? Da General
