How To Make Rivets.

Post by MightyMustang » Fri Nov 16, 2007 12:26 pm

Hey guys I wanted to know if anyone out there knows how to make rivets? The reason I ask is I'm trying to put rivets on one of my aircraft thats lacking them. Is there a way to make them or is there a tool to use? Anyone who can help I would appreciate it.

I don't know how to make them but know you can buy them in various scales.

There are a couple suppliers of scale riveters. Most of them do the glue or epoxy dot method. There also a few punch and die outfits out there. I am not sure what kind of rivet you want to replicate but alot of rivets for planes where flush so in reality they should be tiny tiny little circles. So you could possebly get a tiny tiny little tube of brass sharpen it and tap it with one of those plastic hammers that the car body workers use and this should do the job.

it takes some practice but I have used the hot glue gun to make rivets. Be carefule though it is a little messy.
