Millie P 1:18 P-51 Mustang custom

Post by pokeyjtc » Mon Oct 08, 2007 10:09 pm

Hey everybody,
Here is my latest custom repaint. The recent clearance on XD Mustangs prompted me to pick up a few for customs. Here is the one I just finished.
It's the Millie P flown by Maj Edward Giller of the 343rd Fighter Squadron, 55th Fighter group. Hope you all enjoy the photos.

Thanks for the compliments. The only decal on the entire plane is the nose art 'The Millie P'. Everything else is painted. This includes the nose checkers, the squadron codes and the mustang silhoutte on the tail.

I used 1/48 scale decals that were enlarged to 1/18 as stencils for the squadron codes and mustang shape. The nose art is also from the enlarged 1/48 sheet and then printed on decal paper.
