My first attempt at a kitbashed tank

Post by General Blasto » Wed Sep 19, 2007 4:04 am

When I first started this beastie, I wanted to make a M-26 Pershing tank in 1:18, then after checking photos, I changed my mind to making a M-24 Caffee tank after seeing the differance in the chassie of a M-26 and the M-41 I had to work with. I got a little wild and ended up with something in between with a BIG gun. So this ended up to be, what I would classify as my M-25A Theodore Roosevelt Heavy tank or Teddy tank for short. There's only one of them and I made it in the memory of my little brother Ted who passed away about 5 years ago. We used to do computer army games for years( Red Alert, C&C, etc.) and play plastic army men when we were just kids.

Well now to the pictures of the tank :P

First off, I started with the M-41 chassie and fitted it with a custom turret hybred of a cross between a Sherman and M-41 turrets.

I could help to add at least one custom figure. Every tank needs a commander :)

Here is our gunner holding one of the 155mm HE shells I made from scratch.

An overview shot showing the weaponry which includes the following: 155mm main cannon, (2) 30 cal. machine guns, 50 cal. AA machine gun and to top it off, a turret mounted flame thrower  The tank has increased armour protection for the crew as well as infra red night vision.

A backside view of the tank.

So basically the "Big Kahuna" is a Tiger and Panther killer. AS I said before, it is a one of a kind tank. Now presently on the kitbashing table right now is a M4 Sherman I'm modifying into a VC M4 Sherman Firefly tank . I'll post more on it as it gets closer to being finished ;)

Well, what do y'all think of the Big Kahuna ????

Nice tank! Sorry to hear about your younger brother. I'm glad you treasure the good times you had. I am sure looking up to an older brother like you meant a lot to him too.

He kinda looks like W, doesn't he :?:
The figure had blond hair which I colored black, then gray. A little sanding, a touch of flesh paint and Wala, I made the president :o Just a little before his time  Gen. Blasto
