Diorama: The Afghan Desert, December 2001

Post by tmanthegreat » Sun Aug 26, 2007 3:57 pm

I decided to go have a little fun in a nearby empty lot with some of the PTE animals, 21c Eastern Warriors, and some BBI Special Ops figures. Nothing special was done other than adding the accessories and a few head swaps. The photos are intended to represent seperate moments in the very early part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Enjoy :D

I remember seeing pictures of US special forces getting around in Afghanistan on horseback during the invasion, although I'm not sure if camels were used by either side. Still, camels and Islamic soldiers just seem to go together so well

Hey that looks pretty nice T :D That dry dirt field definitely gives the dio a realistic Afghani look to it, Afghanistan is after all a dry, dusty landscape for the most part. The only thing you need to really give it that "afghan warlord" look is an xd sized opium poppy field.

great! the terrain is really fitting and the small grass works well as dead, dry bushes
