The question of head sculpts and uniform molds are vaild. I wondered the same myself.

As I think someone else already speculated... 21st is obviously going to try to get as much mileage out of a mold before retooling new things. And being that the real life action figure is vastly different from fantasy like star wars, there are fewer opportunities to have truly unique characters.

For sure, we can all agree that there are differences that can be more deeply explored but not on the scale of uniqueness as something like star wars which has other aliens, robots and the like.

All that said, I think figures from 21st are not very different from planes or tanks! We should expect to see modifications, re-paints, and other various forms of use.

Also though, We should expect new molds as well. So the question could be are we going to see new figure molds in 06? We saw Marines, Sahara and Japanese in 05 so I would guess that we would at least see 1 new set? (besides the much anticipated Platoon line) -I hope!

A brige too far is not planned to have figures with any likeness of actors on single blister cards. It's a movie leagal thing. ABTF line is still a go. The new Operation mkt. garden figs are not intended as part of the official ABTF line as I understood it.

-side note- I just opened up a set of Sahara figs! I like the new articulation! pretty cool! I have already done some quick head swaping, you should see a WWII marine Dirk Pitt.... priceless!

newwavepop ~ put a posting in the buy, sell, trade forum for your needs. I have posted needs on several occassions to get these older figures. Off my posts in that forum I have gotten the following from board members:

6 German paras for $30
4 U.S. paras for $20
1 U.S. para in a trade
2 U.S. series 1 in a trade
1 U.S. series 1 for $5
2 German series 1 in a trade
2 German series 1 for $8

Although sometimes EBay can get you a good deal. I won a Japanese Pvt. Ekiguchi yesterday for $1.04.

New P-51 in Pacific paint scheme

Post by demetrop » Mon Dec 26, 2005 10:51 am

TKO, is 21st Century Toys going to come out with a new P-51 in markings from the Pacific theater?

Pacific theater P-51's.... Hum that is an excellent question! I don't know that I had ever thought about that.

I only know the schemes for S1, S2, S3, and S4. And so far none of them were Pacific ponies. S1 is Ridge Runner, S2 is Petie 2nd. S3 can't be revealed yet, same with S4.... Sorry.

But I have been told that the P-51D series is going to have a long life span and that there are going to be about 5-6 schemes to start with... Perhaps S5 and S6 might be Pacific Mustangs?

I will certainly bring it up to 21st for you though. I would like a pacific bird too!

Hey TKO,

Any word on when 21st will be releasing the "Bunker Hill" Corsair? I was looking at the photos of it on the Area-21 website and I have to buy it. I already have 3 Corsairs but this one is just to damn cool to pass up on. So if you have any idea on when its going to be released let me know.

Roger that Fellas- I am looking into both of those topic as we speak. I hope to have more intel posted on AREA-21 regarding both items very soon...

I am also looking into more info for the OMG and BOB figures as well.

Stay tuned to AREA-21 the next few weeks.

Concerning the Bunker Hill Corsair. I, and I presume others who love the Corsair, hope that 21st has seen the light and came up with a better mechanism for their wing hinge, than they are now using. Its useless, even with the screws loosened. Just look at BBI's hinge. Much better.

TKO,

ANY chance that we'll see an M-113 WITHOUT all the holes in the body?

The "stowage" items are, frankly, poorly molded and the square panels, are, IIRC, only correct for a Desert Storm M-113.

Also, any chance we'll see a display M-113 in the Nato 3-color camo?

I am not certain what is in store for the M113? I haven't heard of anything at the moment. If I do hear anything I will be sure to let you guys know.

I would be shocked if we don't see the Rising sun figures offered again in a different scheme.

They sold well from what I understand and the demand is certainly there for collectors who like to army build.

hmmm...?

snow...? Avenger release date...?

I'll take "When Hell Freezes Over" for $500.00

I keeed!!! It's been the top plane on my "want" list for years now so the delays don't really bother me anymore. As long as it eventually makes it here in basic PTO scheme I'll be content. :D

I think what 21C is up to is to keep saying it'll be out soon to make everyone rush out and buy one when it finally, maybe, possibly does show up in our lifetime. In the mean time they keep filling up the store shelves with all the repaints of the old planes. The repaint s--- is getting to be old news.   Glad to see a new kid on the block maybe Admiral will come out with different planes. :D :D There were more countries than the U.S. and Germany involved. Russia had it's Stormavick tank killer that the Germans hated and Britian had it's Mosquito and others. Maybe one of these days.

Some W.W.I would be nice :) Sideshow Toys only had the figures which has since dried up. Too bad they were pretty good. I guess we're at the whim of these companies. Sure wish they'd ask us for some our input. :P
