1/18th Tomcat numbers

Post by A-10LOADER » Tue Apr 29, 2014 11:18 am

Looking for some help with this. I own 2, 1/18th scale JSI Tomcats and I am curious about what the numbers mean that are stamped into the nose gear doors. I know there were only 888 pieces made of each worldwide and I think about 500 pieces were sold in North America ?? My VF-84 has the numbers 091113 and the VF-154 has 110120. If anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it, thanks.

Thanks rschaap but, I think you misunderstood me. Your site lists actual bureau numbers for aircraft. I'm talking about the numbers stamped into the nose gear doors. I am assuming these have to do with when they were produced and the number specific to each piece.

I'm not talking about REAL aircraft, I'm talking about the JSI models. There are numbers assigned to each one made and I'm trying to figure out which ones I have.

My bad. Have you tried to pm Jim@Merit. He may be able to answer the question since Merit is a major distributor of JSI products.

Could be I guess, this is my ex VF-84 version and I got it in 2009.

Yes the VF-154 version was released two years later, in 2011, and the numbers stamped on that one are 110120.
