Can't really tell what the fantasy figures look like but they appear sort of lord of the rings-ish.
These were actually at the show in other production or proto form, more than just cardboard. I just can't find a pic. Maybe when Merit posts photos they will have some.

Mike,

I ran across a picture of an F-18 today that I think would be a fantastic subject for a repaint of your bird...and I think it would be awful close to your heart!!!

Image

This one would for sure make it into my collection! And make it possible for us Yanks to help repay our Aussie brothers for investing in the JSF!!!

For full disclosure, I pilfered this pic from DID, but since it is a direct link up, just know I don't take any credit for it.

Sorry. I filched it. As best I can figure, the source where I got it from only has it in the one rez. Maybe try searching on the RAAF and/or AMOD.

Spud,

Great tip. Was this scheme for 20 years with the Hornet? Is this generally a demonstration ship, and if so do they have a different scheme each year, or was this something special?

G'day Plane Nuts

Yes A21-26 was painted in a special colour scheme to mark the 20th anniversary of RAAF Hornet operations. It carried badges of all the RAAF Hornet units below the cockpit lex for 2 OCU; 77, 75 & 3 Squadrons, my pictures of this bird were taken in 2005.

The RAAF does from time pull an aircraft from front line service to use on a dedicated display tour, but this was the first time that I can recall that the entire aircraft received special re-paint job, usually unit anniversary and other celebratory schemes had been restricted the vertical fins and spine areas of the aircraft.

I do not know the current status of A21-26 is and whether or not it will continue to be the RAAF F/A-18 display bird, there is a big bi-annual air show coming up in March so I’ll guess we will see then.

I do know however that A21-13 is currently flying with a striking tail fin scheme commemorating 3 Squadron's 90th anniversary as the unit was formed at Point Cook, Victoria on September 19, 1916.

Hi Mike
You missed this a few months back? Can I take the credit for finding you a buyer in NZ, if so, where's all my free stuff! haha :D
tankduel wrote:Mike, a while back I suggested BBI should try 'The Warehouse' retail chain in NZ. Well, I was just there doing some Xmas shopping and I almost feinted when I came across the BBI Warriors of the world. I bought a stack and will be back for more. I hope this is the precursor to more BBI lines being sold there? I'll be beside myself if that happens, the 1/18 WW2 and modern stuff will sell well here.

Mike,

Its the end of February. Any news on when we might start seeing the modern figs at TRU?

Mike,

It's been a while since I posted but I want to thank you and BBi for getting back into the 1:6 scale with your military and goth figures, and the release of more perfect body female figs. Everything you've said has come to pass, and I can't say how much that means to me and other collectors of the scale. With that in mind, I have a few questions:

When is the expected release of the third Goth female figure?

Is Cy Girl returning, even if under a different name?

Has BBi considered a Q&A thread on one of the major 1:6 boards, such as One Sixth Warrior? ( http://www.onesixthwarriors.com )

Interest in BBi's products in this scale is extremely high and a voice to counter some of the misinformation would probably help BBi out.

Hello Mike:

We miss you. Come back and throw us a bone or two.

When will we see the new "Don Emerson" P-51 repaint in Toys R Us?

Will the F6-F be available in Toys R Us?

Anything new coming down the pike that we should look forward to?

I will even take a "Wait & See".

I appreciate all you do for our hobby. I enjoy collecting bbi planes and figures.

Hope you are doing well.

I think Mike has left us guys. I hope I'm wrong but we havent heard from him in quite a while. If I am right I think its sad because I like how Mike kept us up to date on things when he could. I sure hope I'm wrong though because I want to know when the F6F will come out.

I think you may be right. A couple of his posts read like he was aggravated. I wonder what could have happened?

I agree with VMF - he should be back. It just may be that there is no news at the moment. When the Hellcat shows or the new figures appear I expect we should hear from him. Or at least I hope. :P
