P-47 is 1:32.
Markecho, I think you are right to be skeptical, but the word was that it "might" be out by summer. Don't let the fact that there was no proto at the show convince you one does not exist...but I have always said with this beast when it comes it comes, all other expectations are set-ups for sadness..

TKO, I just wanted start by saying this B-25 is going to be very cool. Have You seen it yet?
Do you have any intel on the XD Opposing Forces? It was just today I was at 21st's site and noticed the 2 figure pack. Under latest news "2007 Toy Fair Coverage Begins" the 12th pic shows a 2 pack, a U.S. and German figure. I think its a good idea, has 21st given you any news on this?
Thanks, Normandy

TKO, I bet you must have been itching to tell us about the B-25 for a while. I think that you said that there would be more new planes comng out this year as well. Also, if I remember correctly, you stated that when you have the info up on the website, that it is within months that we should see it on shelves. Is that correct or am I just dreaming that?

Well I have to be honest here... I was kept in the dark on the B-25 till recently. This is a large project that apparently has been in development for a little while already. I knew about a year ago that a B-25 was better than 50 / 50 odds so on one hand it seems a logical choice but on the other hand....

HOLY CRAP a B-25!!!! :D

Yep it's the real deal. I don;t have an ETA or many detials yet. A few things have popped up in my breifing over the last couple days. This model is going to really shock and awe the fans! I have been told that the project is fast tracked but for now it's all that I know. More detils are sure to follow because fans now know what to be looking for!

So how about making more dreams come true and finish that A-10 Warthog that's been sitting around for almost five years...the B-25 is cool but come on, it has to be ess costly than a B-25 and smaller too.

Still waiting and wishing for a 1/18 A-10 Warthog.

Pity it's not an A-10.

But I can understand its so much more complex and expensive then a F-4 and B-25

21st Century Toys has been quietly developing another hard hitting project!
For years, fans have been asking if a 1:18 scale multi-engine bomber would
ever become a reality. Complications such as cost, size, and complexity
have prevented this dream from ever seeing the light of day... until now!
What?

I was not too thrilled when 21c announced the F-4 as it seemed to be unorigional and a way to undercut Admiral Toy's hard-won effort, however...

A B-25 is friggin awesome :D I will definitely get one of those and expect it to be the coolest 1:18 plane to date! There are lots of aircraft versions and plenty of neat paintschemes that 21c can do with it! My wish is that the first will be a B-25J with the glazed nose, turret behind the cockpit and the tail gun that has the little "canopy." This plane had also better have a full interior and come with crew figures! Save the gunship version for the subsequent S2 release.

My only potential concerns are the QC issues. The Avenger seemed to have alot more than the smaller 21c planes: missing screw covers, paint scuffs, misprinted markings, broken canopies, cracked & misglued parts. Those defects were in part because it is a large and complicated model and was packaged in a way that it shouldn't have been. The B-25 will be even larger and more complicated than the Avenger, but at least won't have loose folding wings! 21c had better up the ante with the overall QC inspection... Oh, and hopefully these will go to the small retailers first rather than just a few select Wal Marts (that get 30 at a time and then practically throw them away).

21c is taking a giant leap forward with the anouncement of this aircraft and I hope they make it the all-round best release to date in terms of overall production quality, detail, and value! I'm eagerly awaiting further developments on this release 8)

I swore off 1:18 planes because of space limitations. But a B-25? Oh, hell yes!

Has anybody mentioned that the wingspan of a 1:18 B-25 is about 45 inches? Almost four feet!

So any word on price point? Based on size complexity, I would guess about $150 in Walmart and maybe $200+ through the on-line retailers (although I hate to think what shipping would be!)? That would be reasonable enough for a bird this size, but still a pretty good chunk of change.

I think the first shippment of Avengers to WM has a contract thing "deliver now or else..."

I know when I'm rushed I tend to make more mistakes.

On the B-25, the first series has to be Doolittles Raid over Toyko.

Ok so now AT knows there is a B-25, they can do a B-26! Or a He-111...yeah that might be better.

As for space problems, when AT does the C-5, just open the doors and stuff all the other planes in there :D

The pic I saw a while back was a B-25J in NMF with the nose art "Lady Liberty"

I would think they would push for the Doolittle schemes, since the last reunion of the Raiders is this year.

But then one of you sicko's would have to buy all of them and build a 1/18 Hornet in the backyard. :P

I must have the B-25. I think that 21C is just teasing us with the A-10 as well. It will eventually come. I can absolutly wait if we keep getting these other gems like we have for the past couple of years from 21C.

Also for Gary1930, what a bad time in the 1:18 industry to get out of the plane market. A lot is coming out and very few ground pounders are out.

I'm happy for alot of those who want a B-25. But for me I aint stoked about it. Why? Well size for one thing. I have no room for it. And 2 I aint a big fan of the B-25. Now if I see one will I get it? Depends on the price and how it looks. I would have to do alot of rearranging I know that. But for now it aint a high priority and deep down I think they A-10 guys should have gotton their plane first.

TKO, do you know when on-line retailers will receive the new P-38?

Also, will there be anymore photos/information about the 262?
I want to see the paint that will be on the NightFighter 262.
I love the yellow 7 paint on the 262. :D

Thanks

Bunker Hill TBF can't be too far off. I know that Flight 19 needed a little running room so that exaplains the hold up for now. The production paint sample shown at Toy Fair is a good sign of a quick release however. :D

Hello TKO,
I finally got on the forum. There are a few question that I would like answered on production of our beloved 1/18 scale XD.
1. Is Roy the one who makes the master models ?
2. If not who does? Chinese or US craftmen?
3. How long does it take to do the master?
4. What is the master made of?
5. Is there a guesstamate on the price of the master or is this a secret?
Thanks,
Matthew
