Hi Jason,

While we're all waiting for our new Panzer IIIs to make that LONG SLOW boat ride to the U.S., it would be very nice if we could see some new photos of the final production version. Maybe Admiral could post some photos here or on the company website?

Thanks,

Tim

Jason, any news or as in the post before, pics you could share of your new Panzer?

For all those in the proximity of Galveston, I will be at the Galveston airshow the 29th and 30th of this month. I have an appointment with the museum to discuss doing one of their aircraft. I am really working hard to get a ride in their B-17 during the airshow. You should come by and say hi. Look for a booth with an Admiral Toys’ logo. Unfortunately we will not be selling any F-86s, they are all sold out. I guess that is a good problem to have. A few more will be in the US in a couple of weeks along with the anticipated undecorated version. Stuka, you are not too late. I will reserve one for you.

Thank you all for your comments about the ME 262 and F-86. Some more minor improvements have been made to the 262, you will see a production version in a couple of weeks.

Easy8, Trojan99, photos of the Panzer IIIL will hopefully be up tomorrow evening. The tank is in transit to Dallas as I type. The photo shoot is set for tomorrow and hopefully the programmer can get the pictures on the site by tomorrow evening. If not I will have someone in Dallas take some photos for you all to see. Whenever I take photos it seems to get me in trouble around here, hehe.

If you come to the Galveston airshow you can take a look, in person, at the production version of the Panzer IIIL.

Regards,

Jason"

Jason,

Glad to see your back with us and your travels were safe. Interesting to hear Admiral is kicking around the idea of doing one of the museum's aircraft. Is the aircraft in discussion one of the museum's flying exhibits or static exhibits?

Good luck snagging a ride in the B-17. If you succeed, catch a few moments in flight sitting in the nose, it's an awesome feeling and beautiful view!!!

Thank you for your contributions.

Upcoming Panzer III's

Post by Juneau@1 » Sat Apr 29, 2006 7:06 am

The Panzer III L looks great from the picture. How about some pictures of the other two Panzer III's? What kind of paint scheme are the other two going to have?

customer service

Post by pilotman » Sat Apr 29, 2006 11:59 am

just a quick note of public thanks to all at admiral toys.

I ordered a couple of cases of Sabres and as stock dwindled down I noticed one of my cases was pretty badly damaged in shipping.

I contacted Admiral on thursday, got a response Friday morning and the return UPS slip monday with a replacement or refund in the works.

No problems, hassles explanations or other, (not what I get from BBI, sorry guys!)

If customer service is a mark of integrity for a business then ADmiral is at the top of the game.

Much appreciated guys, REALLY!

Adam.

Hi Jason... a question for you...

Post by Warthog75 » Thu May 11, 2006 2:04 pm

What is the best way to contact your company regarding a possible replacement piece for my F86 (I love the jet! But the left wing assembly was cracked upon arrival).

I sent several emails to your customer service address days ago and have heard no response. Is it better to call?

Thanks for your time and help!

I had a nice chat with Jason from Admiral Toys at the Galveston Airshow a couple weekends back. We talked about the current projects that we all know about and Jason hinted that there are two more planes in the works. The only clue he would give me is that they are planes that have not been done yet in 1/18 by anbody else. So let the speculation start!

Cool no more Mustangs, Corsairs or P-47s. Time for that A-10, Wildcat or Hellcat.

"Hello all,

It is that time again when Admiral Toys Incorporated makes the long journey to China to bring back some new models. We leave for China tomorrow and will return when the job is done.

We will bring back two new versions of the F-86. One will be a limited edition that has only a 500 piece world wide distribution. It is called Patricia II. If you would like to look it up the tail numbers are pretty familiar, FU-834, the same as on the Jolley Roger. Once the Jolley Roger changed pilots from Clifford D. Jolley to “Jolting” Joe Womack the aircraft remained in Korea and was transferred to the Rocketeers.

The subtle changes will include the Rocketeers’ insignia on the nose, change of name and a weathered Jolly Roger flag on the side. The flag was left after the pilot change, but in all the historical photos of the aircraft you will notice that the flag was chipping and pealing off the aircraft. We reproduced this effect as close as possible.

Another special feature of this aircraft is they are individually numbered. Each has its own number, 1 or 500, 2 of 500 and so on. Therefore have confidence that you have a one of a kind model. Being that they will not be replaceable you can imagine the quality control that must go into each aircraft. This is something new to the 1:18 market and if you all like it we will be producing more numbered aircraft in the future. Before you ask, I will be getting 00 of 500 and the 1 of 500 will be place in our offices. Also do not call your retailer and request the lowest number they have. . Any given retailer could have number 2 of 500. We will be practicing “shuffle loading” this means that we have no idea what numbers are in what box when placed on the container. We will request that our retailers not open the boxes but it is at their discretion. You will notice a new sticker on our shipping boxes that will go over the seam. If you receive a box that has this sticker disturbed you will know that someone besides us opened that box.

Secondly, we will bring back with us the second, completely different, paint scheme for the F-86. It is a great look. Very little silver is on this sabre. Nice camouflage of grays and greens accompanied by the German cross. It is amazing how different this aircraft looks “painted” as opposed to silver.

Both sabres will be accompanied by a completely retooled pilot with much better engineering and detail. We hope you will approve. There might just be some retooling in the cockpit as well, think seat.

We will also be returning with the highly anticipated ME 262. We hope you like it as much as we do. It is an absolutely stunning model.

For you 1:72 scale fans, we will bring back the Panzer IIIH. It looks very nice in panzer grey. We have also seen the master model for the Crusader. It looks incredible!!!! I will try and talk the other members of Admiral Toys to release the photos. We are opposed to releasing the photos of the Crusader because of the barrage of phone calls we will receive the second they are released. It is difficult to have to repetitively tell people they will have to wait for production. We’ll see, maybe you will get a sneak-peak.

Lastly, we are in China to approve several new models for tooling. They have never been produced in 1:18 scale. Was that a hint? Not really. Here is your hint: “not a lot of people have requested “them,” all of the aircraft are pretty “far” off the radar.

What does that hint mean? I am not sure if I know. Unfortunately off the wall hints are all you will get until production begins. No longer will we post pictures of master models until the actual model is either ready for shipping or in the middle of final production. Sorry for the bad news. The market has encouraged me to be a bit more selective when promulgating our production schedule.

I hope you stay tuned. Look on our website for the first photos of all these models. I will be in contact with Andrew while in China and hopefully can provide him with some photos of all these great airplanes and tanks to be posted here.

Now for member business:

Birddog, thank you for the warm welcome back. It is a flying exhibit. We have spoken with the museum and our objective is to really support the restoration and preservation of awesome war birds around the country. Working with flight museums such as the Lone Star Flight Museum is our way of giving back to the real deal.

Juneau@1, look for the painted samples on our website, or here, later next week or the week after.

Pilotman aka Adam, thank you for your comments regarding our customer service. We really do try hard to quickly and effectively remedy any problems you may have. Good customer service is our thank you to you for purchasing the model in the first place. The least we can do is provide you with a model that you would be proud to display.

This leads me to Warthog75, I apologize that no one has contacted you. We try and answer every question that day or the next. One problem we are having with returns or quality control issues on the F-86 is the fact that we are sold out at this time. We literally have not a one to sell or replace your model with. We anticipate a shipment to arrive in a couple of weeks. This shipment will have just enough Jolley Rogers to fill orders and remedy quality control issues. We recommend that you email us again and state the retailer from which you purchased your model. Admiral Toys Incorporated will work closely with them to correct your issue; that is if they have any left. Otherwise I apologize for the delay in advance. We did not make enough Jolley Rogers. They sold out sooner then expected.

Jason, it was a pleasure speaking with you at the airshow. Great weather on Sunday! Which was your favorite, A-10s, WWII…..?

Jericoeagle1, A-10, Wildcat, Hellcat…maybe….

Stuka, the un-painted versions are on their way and I will post on this site and our website when the time has come to place your orders. I have still set aside enough for all that are interested.

Regards,

Jason"

Jason,
I enjoyed all of the airshow, but I really liked the Skyraider. I just loved the sound of that massive 18 cylinder radial engine as the plane made all of those low level passes! I was a pleasure to talk with you, as always. Have a good trip to China, and bring us back some new planes :D

I wonder if he is talking about Stealth aircraft F-117 and F-22?

I've got it

Post by boyx30 » Sat May 13, 2006 12:24 am

okay thus far:

F-86 = USA
ME 262 = Germany
Zero = Japan

Not a lot of requests also runs with the formula so far of one plane per country and not yet done by anyone in 1/18th

Hurricane =GB
Yak = USSR

It's just got to be folks! also your winning lottery numbers are 8,3,9,2,43,77,57,49

i'm not sure if 'off the radar' is a hint or not. The word 'far' is in quotes.

Stealth aircraft are a possiblity, but all are quite large, so i dunno if they'd do one this early in their career.

'Far' could also refer to range, something with long range. U2? Again, very large. Or maybe something that is off the radar because it's at low level. F-105? That would be sweet, but i doubt it. F-111? Nah.

I guess we'll know in time..

Hi,
I could see a 1:18 F-22 Raptor coming out from Admiral. Problem is, the licensing fees to Lockheed-Martin would be very high. I think that's one of the reasons why Franklin Mint still hasnt come out with one and no one, to my knowledge, has a pre-assembled version in a smaller scale. I'm not sure how many people would be interested in a F-117 Nighthawk, but then again, who's to say how popular it would be if the replica was spot on.

For what it's worth, Military Toy Shop is offering a 1/72 die-cast F-22 in two different paint schemes, by a company called Gaincorp.

Would the opportunity for repaints be somewhat limited for an F-22?

What about a Lysander? Haven't seen many requests for that but, personally, I would love to see one in 1/18. :)

John
