That stinks. Wish Target and TRU would get their heads out of their.... I'd rather give them my 21C dollars instead of Walmart. It would also be nice to find 21C and BBi stuff in one store, for once. Oh well.

Hey TKO, do you know if we have any chance of getting the Huey VN pilots and crew sold seperatly? I know 21c is doing the pilots from different planes but what we really need is the Huey crew, Supercobra pilot and the VN tanker figures. Thanks.

I wonder if there is any chance we will get all the pilots separately. I'd love to have a couple extra F-104 Pilots.

Same here...My Wal-Mart stock is so stagnat and there doesn't seem to be much chance of that changing anytime soon. They just restocked with more Imperial Marines (S2 this time) and more Airborne figures. Which is what we've had (along with S2 Pacfic Marines) for months now.

I have not heard any plans for pilots... I think the next thing figure wise will most likely be all new soldiers.

I wouldn't mind an extra F-104 driver myself... maybe after we get a couple more Jets in the mix?

You never know!

TKO,

I know you discussed it somewhere that there likely will be no enemy combatants with the Platoon figures, but do you think there is any chance we will see 21C in the near future release any new/rereleased NVA or Viet Cong figures? Especially the NVA figure, since we did get the Viet Cong head on the Walker pack-in.

Or maybe does 21C have some engineering samples of the old figures sitting around they just want to get rid off  ? (I know, wishful thinking...)

tko ~ Are we going to get to see some pictures of upcoming figures anytime soon? Any expected release date for the Platoon figures?

None of the news I have lined up for the next week is for new figures... sorry. It's mostly Aircraft. But I don't think it will be too long before we learn more about figures.

I have not heard any plans to re-release or update enemy Vietnam stuff. Never know though...

Okay, my turn to badger the 21st Century POC. :D

Any chance we might see a North African 109G? I know they're G6s and not G2s, but who's gonna know besides us?

Heck, while I'm at it, how about new North African anything?

When we get the Platoon figs, who are they gonna fight?? Hippies? Washington Burecrats?
21st Century needs to update the Vietnam NVA and Vietcong figs. It would be nice to see some VN villagers to go with the Platoon figs. Maybe a 1/18 VN Chicken or Water Buffalo...

*Here is a packaging tip to pass on to 21st Century, TKO - How about giving us a squad pack? 6-8 Figs together in a pack made up of different figs - say for instance Platoon - Chris, Sgt Barnes & Sgt Elias plus grunts:

Image
How about any new playsets for all our cool figs to play in?
We would really like to see some of the mock-up buildings from past conventions or some like these put into production:

or a place for our MP figs to hang out:

With all the hunger for the Sahara vehicles that got cancelled - just change the color to Olive Drab and reissue the - Huey, Mutt, M48 Patton etc...

TKO,

Here's a slightly different question. You constantly see on the board here wondering about the choice of the Walker Bulldog. Could you ask once what were some of the factors that went into deciding on that tank? (Not that I'm complaining - that tank is one of the favorite vehicles in my collection)

21st just sent me over the pics of the first shot F-86. I have a new article going up later tonight! Looks AWESOME! I will wait to see who is the first to notice the MAJOR IMPROVEMENT on this F-86. To me personally it is single most important feature on this model! Lets see who is first to see what I see! Pics go up in the next few hours on AREA-21!!!!

The Bf-109 G from 21st is constructed to be refitted into the many other variants with changes to the nose blisters, wing cannons, canopy and tail section. I would plan a space for a desert Afrika version at some point! I know I am!

The airbreaks will open and the guns will be accessible, which they weren't on the 21c F-104 and hence the major improvement :P

I expect the cockpit will be wonderfully detailed and the pilot will look great as well!

When 21st does "first shots" the various pieces are each molded in a very high contrast crazy color. Roy might be better suited to elaborate as to why. All I know for certain is the the final version will most likely not be blue yellow and silver!

In fact I think Roy sprayed these out in silver specifically for us "regular joes" to better imagine the finished product in this earlier stage.
