Admiral Toys Information Q&A (Jason)
BTW, I would like to see anything listed in the entire Putnam, Flying Machines Press, Jane's, and others to insignificant to mention, references (unless it's already actually available). I hope this doesn't sound too flippant (it is true, however), it's not intended to. I'm just real happy for what comes available, as it comes available. During my limited time in this hobby, it's became apparent that you folks are driving this. And I thank you for't.

Well to be "technical" Jason, the A-10 is smaller then the B-25, but I won't go there. But I think the A-26 might be a good choice. It served in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Even in some CIA roles. I happened to see one of the CIA versions when I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota it was being restored for a museum.

Well for a twin, the Me-110 gets my vote.
I just put up some Skyraider detail shots in the reference section as well. I hope the other pictures were helpful Jason.

I think we are going to need Aferg to put up a poll about which aircraft we want to see. Right now I can pop off more than a half dozen, and I am tired from the second job.

Why do we need a 21c centric moderator to decide what we want? Do we not still want stuff to show up? Why not just state what we like and let the market respond?Quixote511 wrote:I think we are going to need Aferg to put up a poll about which aircraft we want to see. What everybody else has asked for and then these twins......
A-26 Invader (WWII & Vietnam versions, a great antique air force companion for the Spad (A-1))
OV-10 Bronco (a lot of air in that tooling also)
A-20 Boston/Havoc (Nice fast bomber, solid and glass nose versions used by lots of nations hence lots of repaint potential)
He-219 Uhu (probably already mentioned but a big favourite of mine)
PE-2/3 Peshka (just for something Russian to shoot down)
OV-1 Mohawk (for me it's just sexy)
S2 Tracker (tricky wing fold though)
P2 Neptune (again many nations used it and there was also that special USAF type used in Vietnam)
…and just to be different He-177 Greif, Griffin (I know it's not strictly a twin in that it had sets of two coupled engines driving to blades but it is close enough for me and would be spectacular)

Hmmm... Something just keeps popping up in all these request lists: Do-335!!! If only the war could have gone one a little longer and those pesky jets could have been delayed a little! (Ok, just kidding about the war going on a little longer!!) First time I ever saw a picture of one, I just thought WOW!!!
Anyway, Jason, I thank you for being so transparent with your business!! I have a strange fascination with the business of toys, and you really give a great perspective as to what it's really like. For some reason toy makers are extremely secretive, almost to the paranoia level of the defense industry, and it is refreshing to know that one company knows that they are really selling toys!!

Yeah, the Moonbat is a beauty, I love it!
BTW, 8 Do-335's were completed, and 1 is said to have seen combat, so it is not an X-plane like the XP-67 is

Yes but it sounded like that the Do-335 was jumped while in middle of flight test and not on a combat mission.Moth wrote:Yeah, the Moonbat is a beauty, I love it!

Anyone here can set up a poll (although if you wanted to make it into a sticky so it doesn't drop down overtime, one of the moderators WOULD have to do that). But it would be good to narrow the list down a bit beforehand to make it more manageable, maybe just the top 10?chunks wrote:Why do we need a 21c centric moderator to decide what we want? Jason,
You discussed in the MIG/A-10 thread what having a model master means? I'm curious, do you guys do your using CAD models and rapid prototyping, or do you make the models by hand? I know without having RP capabilities in house, they can be pricey (specifically material costs), but it seems more feasible that the time for a master modeler to fab one from scratch.

Sometimes, the mind needs a shovel, rather than a pencil and paper, to express itself.
A P-61 would be cool, however, I think that AT should do a modern bird. Something that they can showoff during the 23rd Annual Wings Over Houston Airshow October 6- 7, 2007. Maybe since the B-25 is off their big board, they can make either the CT-114 Tutor or the A-10 as they are the only highlighted birds in the show that we do not have in 1:18.
The Show is Featuring:
Canadian Air Force Snowbirds
A few of the additional Performers scheduled so far:
GEICO Airshow Team & Tim Weber Airshows
Greg Poe Airshows
John McGillis Airshows
Shockwave Jet Truck
David Martin Aerobatics presented by Breitling
Air Force Heritage Flight- P-51, P-47, F-16, F-4, or A-10.
DAV B-25 Outreach Program
C-17 Demo
A-10 Thunderbolt Demo
F-18 Hornet Demo
Marine Corps Aerial Demonstration
...plus a whole lot more!

What do you want to see in the smaller twin engine realm? List away, we are listening.
I've notice a lot single engine jobs in the lists that people are putting up, but I thought as the quote above suggests the question was what SMALL TWINS we would like to see? (yes I know the He-177 is hardly small)
.....and I'll add some more SMALL TWINS to the ever growing list.
Cessna O-2 Skymaster
Cessna A-37 Dragonfly
However and not in any particular order mind, the A-26 Invader, He-219 Uhu, A-20 Boston/Havoc, Do-335 Pfeil, Ar-234 Blitz, DH Mosquito, OV-10 Bronco and the P-61 Black Widow are the birds that top my preference list.
But I would be more than happy with a Bf-110G (Night fighter), Ju-88 (of any kind) and the B26 Marauder or many other small twins for that matter.
Just a question to Jason, would the aerodynamically clean lines of the Ar-234 Blitz, Mosquito or the Do-335 make these aircraft ideal tooling subjects? although I will concede that the Blitz's landing gear may be a little tricky to pull off.
