Ok here is what I think is a must have on the A-1, folding wings, with detail of the wing fold mechanism, option of having the cowl flaps open or closed, this is more important then you realize. Some will have the A-1 hanging and other will want to display it, with wings folded and setting. A detailed landing gear, which you already has. A detailed cockpit, maybe some engine access panels. Ordinance, and extra ordinance
And a highly detailed pilot.

For the USAF SEA A-1 add a FM 622 whip antenna, even if you don’t attach it at least we can.
Also leave the oil streak off, most folks can add that them selves even the challenged modeler can do that. Tt will be harder to remove it then it is to add it.

I am Interested in seeing a two Vietnam era A-1’s weathered one USAF and one USN down the road
I bet it would make a great special repaint option.

Make it so 21st cant improve the A-1 version

If it helps Jason I have a flying Skyraider here that still flies although it is a AD-5 version. I can go take some pics if you like of the wings while folded or the gear.

Jason, you guys have some awesome birds in the works. The SBD, the F4, & and the A1 will surely kick some major a$$. I noticed in your response on the B-25 thread that you guys said you were taking it off the drawing board. Does this leave the option for you to pursue other twin engine craft? Perhaps maybe you will pick up on the B-26, or dare I say a RAF Mossie? I was just wondering. Thanks for all your time and keep up the good work.

I am just glad that you did not get all the way through production and were getting ready to release the B-25. Or are you, are you going to throw a wrench in it all, that is the question?

Folded wings and gear would be great photos to have. Many may say that I can find a million photos of the fold mechanism for the Skyraider in countless books and pages on the internet. But they are not your pictures. If our research comes from the fans that purchase our models it makes our relationship with you that more intimate. (Boy that sounds creepy, but I think you know what I mean.) This way it will be fun to see what we captured from your research. So bring it on.

Admiral Toys Incorporated will soon start a new website that allows for research, proposals, photo galleries, contest, biographies, just about everything you would want to know about the industry. We will provide start to finish timelines with photos and video of how models are made. I think it will allow you to see a glimpse of the behind the scenes of the industry. You will see what we mean by PVC, ABS, GP, SAN, PC, PU etc. and finally see a tampo-print machine applying a star, or an injection machine at work. We think it will bring you closer to the hobby you love. I wish we could take each one of you to China on a fieldtrip, but you have to be invited to China by the Chinese. I think the Chinese Embassy would freak out if I handed them several hundred applications! So this is the next best thing.

As for the questions regarding the B-25: Yes, we were in preproduction on the B-25. It was being made for a customer that I will not mention, but you do not know. It was not one of your standard retailers, so please do not call all the retailers in the industry trying to find the one. You will not find them.

We found our costs, had our licensing and were ready to begin, but why would we now? 21st will do a great job. There are plenty of other aircraft that are not as space consuming and we do not have to worry about selling as many repaints to recoup our production costs. People say they will by multiples of the B-25. This is the minority. I wish my display space was large enough to showcase 3 or 4 B-25s. Furthermore, we were concerned with the support we would have received in the secondary market (i.e. etailer market) for the B-25. Everyone wants one, and that is my point. The repaints better knock their socks off if you are going to convince the customer to buy a second. Without a guaranteed sale from a mass retailer, the B-25 was going to be one of those cross your fingers releases.

We are relieved that you that you will be getting your B-25 and relieved that we are not producing it. But to answer your question, smaller twin-engine aircraft are definitely a possibility.

What do you want to see in the smaller twin engine realm? List away, we are listening.

Regards,
Jason

Jason,

If you venture into civilian aircraft for 1/18, how about a Lockheed Electra 12 Junior? That is one beautiful Art Deco inspired airplane.

As for military smaller twin engine, there are many here who want a Mosquito or A-26 or Me-110. All three are really sweet.

Although 21st has made several releases of the P-38, they never have made one as satisfactory for many of the members here. I bet Admiral could make a much better Lightning.

Grumman Tomcat and Tigercat(Hey the Tomcat's wingspan is smaller than the B-25, so technically its still "smaller"). :D

Jason I have a question about obscure releases. Would a F-8U3 Super Crusader be a good seller in 1/18 scale? It looked futuristic for its time and it just outright looked deadly and awesome. Look at those angles! There was only one paint scheme for it, but I guess you could paint it in 60's era squadron colors like VF-124 and call it a day.
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

The Mosquito would be a good one.

ME-110 or JU-88.

Oh yeah, we could always use more P-38's.

For something a bit on the different side, but that would actually be rather cool and a lot of historical interest (and different variations):

The possible twin-engine canidates are numerous.. I would like the Ju-88, Me-410, He-219, Do-217, but what I would LOVE to see in 1/18 is the Fw-190A8!!!!! There are tons of different schemes, loadouts and variants that wouldn't require major tooling changes..

Jason, I just want to say thanks. Many koodoos go to you and yours for what you've done for this hobby. If you folks haven't come along then, I'm personally convinced, 21c would not be encouraged to make the announcements that they have (though I have some misgivings about the B-25 due to the display of a warbird circuit ship in grossly incorrect marking instead of an actual prototype).

Again many thanks for being here.
