I am back from China and exhausted.
I am going to take the rest of the week and weekend off, but I did not want to leave you hanging on this past guessing game. It is time to finish what we started.
I am impressed with the guessing. One of you hit it right on the head (Jason).
Here are the clues and what they meant. I am sorry if you feel they are too abstract. You all are too good at these guessing games and therefore we have to be very vague in our hints. 99.9% of the people in this industry have no idea we are coming out with this aircraft. This should be a surprise.
1. Father = my father flew the Skyraider in Vietnam.
2. Oil = it is pretty well known that the Skyraider burnt a lot of oil. In fact my father used to tell me that he would run out of oil before he ran out of fuel.
3. Jump and Pull = these were your only two ways out of the Skyraider. The naval versions required the old fashion bailout, while the air force version had the Yankee extractor seat that “pulled” you out of the aircraft. It was not a modern day ejection seat. I know this was a difficult clue.
4. Hook = well hook.
So there you have it. Admiral Toys is producing a 1:18 Skyraider. We have had many requests for this aircraft. Pilots and infantry grew to know and love this aircraft during times of conflict. It was an incredible workhorse suited for many tasks.
I will try to post some photos of the 1:18 version in a couple of minutes.
I hope you like the Skyraider. It has sentimental value for our family, and lets just all admit, it is one awesome looking aircraft.
Regards,
Jason
Oh, I forgot to say that if you see it next to the SBD you too will admit that it is a lot larger.

I guessed the Skyraider too but my hats off to Jason for nailing that clue I had no idea. But Thank you very very very much. The Skyraider is my second favorite aircraft next to the A-10. I can't wait to see it. Admiral just gets better and better.Jason of Admiral Toys wrote:I am back from China and exhausted.

I'd like to see the Navy Intrepid scheme as well. It will really look nice next to the 21st Avenger. I've seen the real McCoys at my local Air Museum here in Olympia and they are massive. Definately a multi buy for me.Birddog wrote:Hope we see all schemes. The SEA Camo will be awesome!!!!

I'll bet it's safe to say that there will be more than one scheme from Admiral with this bird....Jericoeagle1 wrote:I'd like to see the Navy Intrepid scheme as well. Definately a multi buy for me.Birddog wrote:Hope we see all schemes. The SEA Camo will be awesome!!!!

Thank you for the early replies. We are happy that you approve of our choice of models. To answer some of the immediate questions: The first paint scheme will be decided soon. The aircraft is not yet ready for preorder, so preorders beware. We will let you know when it is safe to start preordering from your favorite retailer. Close but not yet. It is still in tooling. Some minor things have changed since these photos were taken. Yes we will come out with the more popular paint schemes. Announcements on paint will come in short time.
Here are the pictures I promised you:

Hope you enjoy the photos. Yes these are all photos in 1:18 scale.

Jason

Oh man its my favorite version. So maybe a Fall release then? Its even got ordinance on it! Will the wings fold on the finished version? I'll take it even if they don't.

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

G'day Jason
I can see what you mean by the improvements in the tooling, everything looks very crisp indeed.
I'm looking forward to a USAF SAE scheme which with minor changes could also be a VNAF scheme, in fact optional decals for the stars and bars and the tail codes would make this a synch.
I am extremely excited by this aircraft and hope to add one to my collection when it becomes available.
Two thumbs up form down here.
