So it is a Japanese Kate! Very cool. Now when its released paint it up in the color's of Commander Fuchida's plane. Its just a suggestion mind you. But great choice. Now my Hellcat, when it comes out next year will be flaming BOTH the Zero and a Kate. I love it!

Ya’ll knew it from the start! Good job. It was a struggle for me to keep the game going through Thursday. The next one will not be as easy. We will start that guessing game after the holidays. Yes, there is more in store for you to view.

Now the last hint, and TKO cannot guess on this one (because he already knows), is why did I move forums?

I will explain later.

Here is the view of the entire aircraft, minus the landing gear. We are still working on the gear:

Image

And here is a shot of a painted version that I think would make a beautiful first paint scheme. THIS IS NOT OUR PRODUCTION MODEL, it as a sample done by Yannick Guegan, great looking aircraft:

So please, retailers, do not use these images for pre-ordering. There is much to be discussed about this model. I have not talked about some very important “things” about the model.

A release timeframe will be determined after toy fair. So at this point I can say nothing about release dates or production schedule. You will know in a month or so. So if you see it for pre-order, I would not pre-order it. There is much to be discussed.

Thanks for playing; I hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me.
Regards,
Jason

Isn't Admiral in line to make an F-5? or is there a third aircraft in the works?

G'day STARMAN 352ND

I think you will find that this is a Fake-Kate, which is a Texan / Harvard convertion made originally for the "Best" Pear Harbour movie Tora, Tora. Tora.

Happy BDAY Jason, your company is in the spotlight obviously thanks to its "different" approach to selling and making products that sell, and even trying to talk to other manufactor's!!!!

the companies that dont change, are the ones that are now gone.

Boy, I never realized what a wing span the Kate has. Will definitely need to hang this one from the ceiling to save my shelf space!

Size estimate

Post by JimBob55 » Thu Dec 21, 2006 4:55 pm

Start planning deck space, gang!

I'm estimating this one will be 22.3" long with a wingspan of 33.6". Thanks to Admiral for the operational folding wings!

Also Jason, I really want to tell you how much I appreciate
and respect your staying in touch with us 1:18 fans. It means a lot to me (and others I'm sure) that Admiral toys really cares and communicates with their customers. Admiral has set a standard in customer care and support, and have easily set some detail standards in your first two production aircraft offerings. I wish Admiral Toys the brightest future, and will put my money where my mouth is with all of your future offerings! :D

ah....i just stumbled across this model of the same plane. Looks kinda swish with the weathering, may have to give it a go. Doesn't say the squadron/time frame. Anyone know?

Boy, you know the Kate and the 262 nightfighter are two planes i never expected to see in 1/18. But they're both coming and I'm LOVIN' it...

I'd say that's probably not on others list of aircraft to produce. Great choice Jason and Admiral Toys. I'm sure this one is going to be another home run as well. The level of detail in Admiral's offerings is getting unbelievable.

It's going to be hard to wait until after the holidays to see what's next. After this I get the feeling Toy Fair is going to be a whole heap of fun.... :D 8)
