Easy8, I am sorry that there has been little news on the 1:72 scale line in the past couple of weeks. We are working on a completely new form of production for this line. It will be very beneficial for the collectors. I do not want to say anything more about the process, for if it does not work, I would look foolish. But stay tuned. If it all works out, I think you will be very happy.
All the models you saw in prototype stage will be at the New York toy fair. I will take some pictures and post them after the show.
EnemyAce, you will not be happy with what I am about to say. WE GIVE ALL THOSE MODELS AWAY!!!! I know… “Why can’t I get some!! Because we give them to children’s homes and programs such as Toys for Tots. Of course we only give the ones that have minor QC issues. Broken models are sent back for recycling into our other lines. What kind of Toy Company would we be if we did not try to make a child smile during the holidays?
VMF115, yes, that is still a safe bet.
Regards,
Jason

Exhaust might be missing in the lower left of the photo, no prop, but could be 2 bladed.Jason of Admiral Toys wrote:Ok, hint number 2(ish):
There is something missing in this photo:

Tanks for the memories
Your breachblocks so black
And oodles of track
Here at Grafenwoehr it's so good to be back

Well, it's not the KI-63, since there is no radiator in front of the engine, unless that's what's missing, but I think Jason is refering to the missing exhaust.
It's not a Devastator, because in the last pic, there was a wheel well that is very close to the front of the wing, the Devastor's wheels fold back.
Narrows it down to,
Dauntless
Helldiver
Kate
KI-63 if the radiator is the missing item
or, unfortunatly, the Zero

Zach sent me this...not a bad guesstko211 wrote:It's still a Kate.
Looks like a Kate... I love it!
Beautiful bird, and if I recall correctly, huge too!
The 2 shots dont fit because they are different sizes, try and make the engine photo a bit bigger, it should fit then

It’s funny as last night I had two candidates the Oscar and the Kate but I decided against the Kate because I thought the cowl flaps to close to the wing root although the wing root fairing was the right shape, now that the cowl flaps appear to be engine cowl panel lines I am almost in total agreement with TKOs guess.
I say almost as I’d still would have liked to have seen the Oscar.
However it was Kevrut who took the first blind guess with:

I think the exhaust stack is the part that is missing.. I think the chin scoop has been cut from the pic since it seems to end at the edge of the cowl..Jackson wrote:Well if it is a B5N2 Kate then besides the exhaust stack it is missing the chin scoop as well...... unless he cut it out completely of the pic, but looking where the exhaust pipe is you should see something of the scoop...

Where did you get that pic of the engine Spudkopf?
Im sure that is a Japanese engine, probably the Nakajima NK1B Sakae 11 14 cylinder that the Kate had. Great realible engine, but a bit underpowered for the Kate.
