ADMIN: Rowsdower cannot log in

Post by ChairmanMilo » Fri Sep 14, 2007 10:56 am

Here's an email I just got from Rowsdower today:
Hi,
I have been contacting anyone I can because I have not been able to log
onto SSHQ for over two weeks, or since the domain went down for a while.
It just tells me I have an invalid user name?!?! I have emailed the
Admin, Britt more than once but he doesn't seem to reply to his mail. If
you could be kind enough to post this this on the Forum thread I would
appreciate it. I am hoping Aferg or somone can help me get back onboard,
I'm really going crazy here.
Thanks,
Brian (Rowsdower)

I activated his account sometime ago. GRRR! Does he not remember his password? I can't look up passwords.

soo thats why you haven't been on rowsdowser. Thought you were on a trip. I am pretty sure this happened to me a while back. I was positive that I had the right user name and pass but it wouldn't let me log in. I wish I could tell you I fixed it but unfortunately I had to make a new account.

Here's another one from rowsdower.
Many thanks to you* *ChairmanMil*o* for relaying the information, and
many more if you will kindly do it again!

I am positive that I am using the right name and password. I even tried
to retrieve my password for Rowsdower but it tells me: "Sorry, but
your password cannot be retrieved because your account is currently
inactive. Please contact the forum administrator for more information."
So I'm not really sure what that means. Anyhow, my main email is
[email protected], could that be the problem? I changed it from the email
I originally signed up with.

And Britt, please don't think I was being rude towards you, I know this
site is run off your generosity and whatever bit of your busy schedule
you can find to keep it going.

I always check to see what avatar you're using every day, Rowsdower - you never disappoint!

... and you're welcome. I wouldn't want to be cut off from the forum either, so I can imagine what you were going through.

Rowsdower isn't the only one that got fixed. I signed up several weeks ago and never received an activation email. I'd like to publicly thank Geoff (blurx7) for his assistance in contacting Britt and getting my account activated. I can post now!

General Blasto trying to register - PLEASE HELP

Post by Razor17019 » Mon Sep 17, 2007 9:38 pm

TO: P51

Here is another person trying to register to get on the board:

Hello Razor17019,
Sorry to E-mail you, but my name is robert and I'm trying to
join up to the small scale HQ forum. After filling out the info.
There was a message that said a moderator had to ok you
to be able to log on and post. I've waited to hear from
someone and got no reply and can't log in. I did some checking
of the new members on the membership list and found out
that anyone who's regeristered since after July 4th has not
or can not post. I found this odd. Can you contact the moderator(s)
about this please ? I signed up with a user name of General Blasto.
I deceided to E-mail you because the current moderator has no
E-mail link to notify about problems.

I am new to the 1:18th miltary modeling coming over from
G scale outdoor trains. Over the last few months I've started kitbashing
new tanks in 1:18th and done custom figures. I've been looking for a forum
to join to share my projects with, ask questions, etc. I think there is something
wrong with the signing up and approval part of the forum, perhaps done
by a member that's no longer a part of the forum ???

Please pass my request on to the current moderator and have him
look into this. My E-mail is: [email protected]
I would like to be a part of your forum and feel I could contribute much
to the hobby.

Maybe we need to create a general SSHQ or moderator email address. There are definitely some communication problems here. People need help but have nobody to contact and we can't expect Britt to handle it all obviously.

Desperately sending out messages to everyone with an email or web site in hopes of getting someone to relay the fact that you can't log on for two weeks is not fun.

P51-
Razor17019's account is fine...

General Blasto is the one that just signed up and is not able to log in.

His email address is: [email protected]
His first name is Robert.
Please contact Robert about HIS account.

Robert emailed me and said:
"Now I read the sticky thread that Britt made about contacting him directly and I did, but have not heard from him at all. I also
have not received the automatic reply from the forum yet.
I'd E-mail Britt again, but I have E-mailed him once before
you and also did the contact him directly with the link under
his name in the icon portion of his post."

Thanks!
