Page Widths and Side Scrolling

Post by Plane Nuts » Mon May 21, 2007 10:16 pm

P51: I was wondering if there was a magical button you could push on the forum software to either narrow up the page width setting or allow a browser detect to find out browser window size. I have always been a little displeased with the need to side scroll sometimes (usually when someone uses a huge avatar) but it seems to be happening more often now. I can't fathom why the screen size can't be customized to different browsers fairly easily on the fly--afterall, most of the posts are just text.

Call me ungrateful, but I thought I would ask!!!

Second that.

I've found that it doesn't automatically resize for my widescreen laptop, either (1400x900).

It's a little frustrating when, with the IE window maximized, the right third of the screen is blank and there is a horizontal scrollbar for the content on the left two thirds of the screen. Doh!

I might be able to suggest some changes by viewing the HTML source for the page, but even if we find the answer, P51 may not have much control over the source, depending on where it came from.

Was it for this my life I sought? Maybe so, and maybe not...
