How do I post a picture?
I hope this is the right place to ask this question. Can someone tell me how to post a picture? I want to post a picture in the Admiral F-86 thread, but I am not sure how to do it. Thank you.

Use the site www.imageshack.us.
Its free. All you do is copy the picture you want from your harddrive using the browse function on the site, then uplaod the image. Copy the link image information under the Hotlinks for Forums (1) bar and paste it to your post. It should begin and end with these symbols: The picture should appear on your message when you submit your post.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I THINK I'LL POST THIS TWICE-- SOMEONE HELP ME TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST A F..KING SCANNED PICTURE PLEASE. I HAVE REGISTERED AT BOTH PHOTOBUCKET AND IMAGESHACK AND CANNOT FIGURE THIS SH.T OUT- IF SOMEONE CAN POST SOME PICTURES OF EITHER PROCEEDURE, I WOULD CERTAINLY F..KING APPRECIATE IT- AND I MEAN THAT MOST SINCERELY- THANKS..
Once registered, did you upload a picture to either (I'm more familiar with photobucket)?
If not, you'll need to do so.
If so, once uploaded the image (at photobucket anyway) will have some boxes below it that contain different addresses or tags depending on how you want to use the image.
On this board you can simply copy and paste everything from the IMG code box into your post.
Or if you'd like you can use the buttons above the box you type your post into. If you choose that route, you'll click the button that says "Img" once and it will add a "tag" that consists of brackets surrounding the letters "img" ( I can't write it out, because if I do, the system will recognize the img tag and try to use whatever I type next as an image). After that tag, you can type or paste the "direct link" (if your using photobucket) URL and then click the little yellow text above the white box you type your post into that says "close tags". The system will add a tag much like the "img" in brackets tag you put in front of the URL, only this one will have a slah before the img.
Once you get the hang of it, you can also just type out the bracket img other bracket, and do likewise with the slash for the other, it should look like this with out any spaces:
[ i m g ] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/ ... Parker.jpg [ / i m g ]
Done without spaces, you should get this:

here we go again
I try to log in at imageshack and it wants me to register, I f..cking register and it wants me to login etc, etc. Is there a 1-800 number for either one of these sites or what? not that there would be a live person at a free hosting site, anyway, though
I'm more familiar with photobucket, so I'll just go with it. Perhaps someone else can chime in with imageshack help.
When I log in to photobucket, I see tabs for "home", "my album", and "find stuff" towards the top of the page. Like this:
From here choose "my album". Once there, new options appear underneath the previous tabs. They should read something like "albums and upload", "create slideshow", "create remix", "create avatar", "share album", and "buy prints". For me, albums and upload is the page that is already selected, but if not select it. It should look like this:
Now see the box slightly off to the right that says "upload to:", in it are three spaces/boxes with a button to the right that says "browse". If you happen to have the filename/path to wherever your images are stored all memorized, feel free to type it into one of the boxes. If not (like most of us), just click "browse" and use the little box that opens up to find the picture you want to upload. Once you find it, select it by clicking on it, then click "open". If you want to upload more than one picture, use the other two lines the same way, then click the big button at the bottom of that box that says "upload". Let it work for a minute or so, depending on your (and theirs) connection speed, until a screen that I can't remember just what it looks like an is giving me nothing but trouble tonight comes up.
Sorry, I'm working through this step-by-step as I'm typing it, to make sure everything is correct, but photobucket isn't working all that smoothly tonight, so I have to keep uploading images just to see what the next screen says... But, it is free...
Ok, that screen should look like this:
If you'd like you can add a title and description for your picture. Or you can skip it. You can always edit it later. I choose the blue "skip this step" button. Once you do, you should go to a screen that looks very much like the "my album" screen you saw several steps ago, only this time, your pictures should appear as little thumbnails underneath the upload box we were using earlier. If you scroll down a little you'll be able to see all your pictures, and the little boxes under tham that I mentioned in my last post. It will look a little like this, only with your own pictures instead:
If you manage to do all this, go back and read my last post, and it should make a lot more sense now. If not, feel free to ask more questions. A note, photobucket will resize your pictures automatically to a web appropriate size. Sometimes it's annoying, but again, it's free...

If you've got them looking like my last pic, you're in good shape. What I had written before should do the trick for you. Once you've got them on photobucket, getting them here is pretty easy, especially if you just copy and paste the stuff from the "IMG Code" box under the pic you want on photobucket into your post. Give it a try...

looks like you've got it to me. I see a black and white picture of a formation flying in front of a snowy mountain. Is that it?
