Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!
Hi AGAIN folks!
I registered here almost 4 years ago when I first discovered the 1/18th and 1/32nd
planes and vehicles from 21st Century Toys/Ultimate Soldier but my hobby got
"Back burner'd" by getting married and then doing another deployment (Route Clearance
Package out of Helmand Province this time).
Lately I've gotten back into building models (1/32nd and 1/48th scale mainly) and
I'm looking to start adding to my (Aging) collection of 1/18th scale planes (The wife
let me have a whole room for them lol).

Hi there,
Ulysse Lainé aka Ulu Elsomalien, from Versailles (France), owner of "Prépeint & Cie" blog about modern & zombie wargaming.
My favourite scales are 1/43 & 1/50 (Solido), 1/56 (also known as 28mm scale for wargaming), 1/60 & 1/64 (civilians cars and Corgi military stuff) and some 1/72 (Altaya planes).
Here is a teaser : (Old piccies)

Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!
Shinsen here, just joined.
I'm into 1:18 BBi & XDs. Used to be a modeler but got lazy when BBi & 21C showed up.
So many things I didn't know existed until I found this board.
I hope to contribute to the board, somehow.
Thanks!

Welcome Dom
You are doing way better in English than I would ever do in French!

Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!
Hello everyone,
I'm a new member here. Actually joined a few months ago, but just posted my first post today. I am a member of two other forums (The Model Warbird Collector Forum and the Corgi Forum) and I hope to occasionally share my thoughts and opinions (for what they are worth) here as well.
My moniker reflects my participation in this hobby ( Plastic Model Maker). I do collect (and Code-3 modify) die-cast models of aircraft, but my primary focus is on building plastic kits for recreation. I build in all scales, but I prefer 1/72 scale for WWII planes and 1/48th scale for WWI, inter-war, and some WWII fighters.
Just one of my builds to show what I do: a 1:48th scale Revell P-51D Mustang

The best models to own are the ones YOU like. Don't let anyone's opinion change your mind.

I've had a great ride on this Forum for the past 5 years. It's a blast! Hope you enjoy the info and the banter. I've learned a ton of both history and technical details I never knew, especially about armor.
Nice job on the P-51. I like the weathered warrior look. I'm used to being around a pristine example at our Museum. Our B-25 looks the warrior part.

Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!
Thank you for the welcome Axis Nightmare. I do enjoy learning about armor models, though I don't collect them. I enjoy them through other people's collections.
I envy guys who get to work on old WWII warbirds. A B-25 is a sweet plane to work on.
I built a Revell 1/48th B-25C in desert camouflage. I posted a thread on another forum. Here is the link if you are interested:

The weathering was a lot of work and the model turned out well.
I look forward to hanging out with you guys and learning a lot. That's what I like best about forums such as this, learning new things.
