I see that some posts indicate that they have been modifed (when and how many times). The topics that I have modified (one specifically for testing purposes) do not show this note. Anyone know what the scoop is with this?

I've noticed that when I modify my posts before some else replies, then the little "Last Modified..." message does not appear at the bottom of my post. If I modify the post after someone has replied, then the little message appears.

It only appears after people reply to your topic. If no one replies, then it doesn't really matter that you modified it. It's a safeguard in case somebody removes something from their post making the people who posted afterwards look like they were talking crazy.
