Immediately upon acquiring my new Blackhawk, I was contemplating what would be required to convert it to a Seahawk. As it turns out, it's much more work than I'm prepared to put forth. I was hunting around online and stumbled across the Navy's replacement for the CH-46 Sea Knight; the MH-60S Knighthawk.

This helo combines the Blackhawk's cargo and transport capacity with the Seahawk's maritime capabilties.

This custom would require very little beyond a coat of paint and some decals. I also suspect it would be simple enough to extrapolate a Marine Corps cammie scheme based on current patterns worn by the CH-46 and -53.

I talked to a Seahawk pilot a few years ago at a show, He said that they were going to get some Blackhawks from the Army. Wonder if this is what he was referring to? I saw one two years ago at Shaw A.F.B. I took a photo of it ,but never made a closer inspection.

The key mechanical differences between the two are the Seahawk's automatic rotor folding system and hinged tail section (which you can see fairly well in the second photo). Beyond that, it's mostly avionics suites and paint.

Even then, all of the -60 variants are supposed to share the same basic cockpit layout.

I just came across an excellent photo of the Seahawk's tail folded. It appears much of this detail could be added without too much fuss.
