It's a shame it's happening to the RAF now, but that's been the case with US aircraft for quite a while.

I can understand not wanting to offend the women. That's reasonable, but the people in the Middle East? As current events show, what
doesn't offend them

i'm all for considering the feelings of others but this really is a shame....it's such a tradition, in both airforces.
And as the DoD said, they had not received one single complaint about the nose art.....it's more entertaining and amusing than offensive....especially when you look at the quality of some of the drawings. It's not like they're lewd, pornographic photos..
I'm sure if some of the female combat pilots had put nose art of beefcake guys on their planes or helicopters, nobody would have complained.....in fact, that would have been a pretty cool twist on it.
Really a shame...

sure - nothing better than thinking of others first in all things - including feelings. But - If someone is offended over a picture or anything for that matter - well then they are offended. That should be it. If I am offended over a picture well I can - not look at it again in order to keep myself from being offended again. I could seek professional help to understand how the offending picture keeps me from preforming my daily activities, eg. shaving, washing, changing clothes etc. - and to learn basic coping skills so that I can move on. Or I could walk up to the artist and tell him/her how and why the picture offended me. At that point I have expressed my opinion (hopefully not offending the artist) and should be able to move on in life. (That is it) Sure there are legal recourses if some artist drew a nude pic of me on the nose of a plane - even if it is a good picture and I'm flattered - I really dont want my kids watching the news and running in asking about dad' missle plane -
of course we are dealing with a different culture with different customs and values - so I say we just take the planes away - to keep any possible offending art from cluttering the safe sky.
PC is a an enemy within.
In case my remarks offended you please PM me for a list of actual therapist

I really dont understand this world of "offense".
If you dont like it, too bad, no one cares!
That was the way it was before, it should be the way it is now.
I mean, now if you are called an idiot, you can sue that person, thats madness!
It's funny to me actually, people have said very "bad" things to me in school and such but I dont even think twice about them, I ignore it.
Now they are banning nose art?
I hate this world now, and I can only imagine how much worse it is going to get.

Political Correctness... Lets not offend anyone... But dropping a 500lb bomb on someone is OK. Is this nuts or what? I say keep the nose art.
