Technology was apparently invented in 1907. So yes, they did..

Interesting! While I at first had my doubts over the veracity of color photos this early (afterall, it was also a common practice in this period to paint the negatives or plates to produce a photograph "in color") I researched the development of color photography and found that it had been experimented with since the 1860s, with the first practical color film Autochrome reaching the market in 1907. This is presumably what the French photographers used with the WWI photos. Color photography was a complicated to produce and consequently was rare until the 1940s. That makes these WWI photos a real treasure!

Was surprised too to see color photos of WW1. Interesting.

That is pretty neat of how they are in color. 100 hundred years ago.
