The BTR-152 has been one of my favorite military vehicles since I saw them when working in Egypt many years ago. I'd like to build one in 1:18, but can't find any wheels which would work. They should be 2 5/16" in diameter, and some had a tractor-type tread. If anybody has any ideas about what toy might provide them, please let me know. Thanks.

i've found lots of cheap 1/32-ish tractor toys at WM and TRU and have used the wheels off of them for various projects over the years. They usually vary between 2 inches and 2 1/4 inches in size, depending on the manufacturer.
I was buying them for $5 each, so that's $2.50 a wheel, which is about as cheap as you'll be able to find.
My only complaint is that they tend to be very 'tready' in appearance but other than that they look good, are readily available and cheap.

If you check out E-Bay for either Buddy L or Structo brand 1/16 scale trucks you should be able to find a truck real cheap. There are some trucks that are rusty and no one will bid on them. If you're only after the wheels and axels it should be a good way to go about getting some cheap. I just measured a couple of my trucks and the wheels measure 2.25" tall. Some trucks even come with dual wheels. You could always e-mail the seller and ask too, I've never had a problem with anyone taking the time to measure something they're selling.
Good luck, Kevin.
