TBF Avenger video

Post by Wings_&_Armor » Sat Oct 14, 2006 2:38 pm

Hey all (sorry for double post, I posted in Off topic, but this is probably the right place)

Went to the Suffolk Virginia Peanut Festival today which was held
at the Suffolk Executive Airport. I went with the wife not expecting to see much except a bunch of arts and crafts and peanut recipes. To my sheer joy, they had an F4 Corsair, A TBF Avenger and one more WWII aircraft (that I hate to say I do not know what it was) flying over us for about thirty minutes and making passes so we could see them. The Corsair paint job is the one
BBI has out in 1:18 scale with the little jolly roger flag on the front.
This was my first time seeing an Avenger fly and boy did that engine sound sweet.
(you can hear it on my video)

I posted a video of the Avenger flying by on You tube if you want to check it out. Was using my digital camera and the quality degrades
a bit when transferring thru You tube. BUt hopefully you can see why
I was elated!

Thanks John, I had never seen a Skyraider before.
I guess I'm turning into an ol' softy because those aircraft sure looked majestic as they flew by. One of those "Proud to be an American" moments. (no offense intended to our allied collectors  )
