GREAT D-Day book at Borders for $7.99!

Post by holensock » Sun Oct 08, 2006 5:41 am

It was on the bargain table, regular price, $39.99. The book is called, THE D-DAY EXPERIENCE, from THE INVASION TO THE LIBERATION OF PARIS, containing rare removable documents, memorabilia and an audio CD of verterans' firsthand accounts. It's a GREAT book and for $7.99, you can't go wrong! The book comes in a hard cardboard cover. Also on the back it reads, "The reader can relive this momentous period of history by holding and examining maps, diaries, letters, secret memos and reports, posters and logbooks, which up until now have remained filed or exhibited in the Imperial War Museum and other collections around the world."

Thanks for the heads up, I recon area Borders stores frequently and I'm always on the lookout for bargains like that, I love this kind of stuff. How about a pic if you get a chance?? Thanks again.

Just a quick addendum to the above...your message got me curious, so I did quick Amazon search and it seems there is a comapanion to your find called "WW2 Victory in Europe Experience: From D-Day to the Destruction of the Third Reich" Info here...

Wouldn't it be a real coup if I could find both at Borders for $7.99 each?? Ah well, I can always dream!!

Sorry, no pics. I'm like Aferguson...no digital camera. But thanks for the link for that book! It looks like the same publisher as the book I told about!! I'll have to keep checking Borders now for this too to go on sale!
I LOVE these books with all the extras and neat pictures!

Well, I found it today!! I went in to a Borders store today and searched high and low for it, and I was about to give up but I noticed some different looking books under a larger pile of bargain books, and there it was!! I'm really pleased with it and I think it is a super value for $7.99. I ordered the companion to this called "WWII Victory in Europe Experience: From D-Day to the Destruction of the Third Reich"

I got this thru an Amazon partner seller for just under $10 delivered, another terrific deal in my opinion. Thanks again for the heads up on this.

Both look very cool
Scott & Bob, I would trade XD or 32x for either or both of those books if you could pick them up for me. :D Media mail would make shipping cheap and I will certainly make it worth your while  Just drop me a Pm if you think you may be able to do so. Thanks either way. :D
