Need help identifying helmet

Post by ketelone » Sun Apr 20, 2014 10:34 am

I purchased a helmet at a flea market today. I'm trying to determine country of origin. It looks like a helmet of Russian or eastern Europe design or shape but it has a crest or badge or shield on the front of it. The person from whom I bought the helmet said it was Taiwanese but I don't think so. It has writing on the crest/shield but it's not Chinese. Perhaps it's Arabic or Indian or Pakistani or even southeast Asian. Anyone have any ideas? Regrettably I don't know how to show a picture but I would gladly send an email containing a photo of the helmet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try finding a picture of it on Google and then tell Forum what website it's on.

It's not French. I have multiple French helmets. I'll try to google it. Thanks.

Post a picture of your helmet - a picture is worth a 1000 words.

I went to a military show and had the helmet identified, it's from Thailand.

J, go to Thai helmets. It's in the 4th row with a 'gold' shield in between motorcycle helmets.

Sorry j. When I google 'Thai helmets' I selected 'Images of Thai Helmets.' There is no website. It merely shows various helmets. The one I have is olive green with a gold bronze colored badge or shield on the front. If you'd like I could email you a photo.

KETELONE:

A simple tutorial, re: posting pictures from Google search.

Searching for "thai helmets" in Google image as you suggested, you will want to click on one of the displayed images, which should cause the image to be brought into the forefront in a new box. To the right of the image there will be two buttons: Visit Page and View Image. Click View Image. You hopefully are viewing the image by itself now, so right-click with your mouse and select "Copy Image Location" from the context menu.

Then, come here to your post and click the "Img" button in the toolbar above where you type. Then just press CTRL-V and you're done. Hit the preview button to see what you have done.

If you are talking about the pic to the left of where you bid and all that, then it all depends. If you hover the pointer over the pic and a magnified version appears, then you cannot link to the pic. You can only link to it if the picture does NOT change when you move the mouse over it, and then you just right-click and select "copy image location" as before.

If there are pics in the body of the auction, i.e. down below the shipping info, then you can right-click those as well unless the seller has blocked them - which depending on how they are hosting their pics can be done. Those will not give you any option to link or copy the image.
