Actress Ingrid Pitt, best known for her lesbian vampire roles in Hammer Films horrors (THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, COUNTESS DRACULA) and co-starring with Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton in WHERE EAGLES DARE, loved RAF warplanes. Her favorites were the Spitfire and Lancaster.
Pitt was boarding an airliner to co-star with Eastwood in KELLY'S HEROES when her role was cancelled at the last moment.
