A better glue

I accidentally discovered that the pipe cement used for glueing together PVC pipes works much better for our models than Superglue, and for the following reasons:

1- It will not bond skin as rapidly as superglue, should you contact it with your fingers.

2- Once two peaces are in contact, it dries up very quickly.

3- It forms an extremely strong bond, which of course could become a disadvantage if one needed to undo the parts.

4- Ounce per ounce, it's much cheaper than Superglue.

Just be careful with the fumes, which are very strong, and use a small model-painting brush, rather than the cotton ball applier that comes with the can.

This product is sold at all hardware stores where PVC pipe and sprinkler materials are sold.

I've obtained very poitive results using this product, so I highly recommend it.

Very interesting. I'll have to try that.

Hey Eddie,
Thanks for the tip. I repaired a couple of machine guns and a truck wheel that had broken off. That stuff sets up fast.
