Little wonder. After arming every soldier over 12 years of age in the entire planet, they just ran out of customers.

1/18 should have such problems.

Are they moving onto production of the AK-103s and such, or moving onto a completely different model?

It doesn't surprise me, the AK has never really been upgraded and how could you?, its one of the best battle rifles ever built, I got to tell you, I'm no commie, but if I had to pick a rifle to protect my family and knew I couldn't get parts for it, this is the rifle I would pick.

the AK-47 is indeed the best assualt rifle of all times. I should get one these days.

I think its being replaced by the AK-105 for the Russian Army.

But I don't have a source for that, just memory!
