P-47 Encounter Reports.....

These are equivalent to what the Infantry and Armor branches would call "After Action Reports", pretty amazing stuff for anyone who has an interest in this sort of thing. Some of the most famous USAAF fighter aces of the war are represented here, including men like Francis Gabreski, Robert Johson, and Hubert Zemke, to name just a few. I've included a link for P-51 Encounter reports as well. NOTE: depending on your browser, you may need to increase the zoom factor somewhat, as the typeface on many of these reports seems (at least to my eyes) rather small, but it's well worth the effort as the combat stories are fascinating. Enjoy... 8)

Glad you guys enjoyed it. There is a lot of other interesting stuff as well at the main site, (WWII Aircraft Performance) and it's a great place for anyone who wants a quick way to compare the performance charachteristics of Allied & Axis aircraft. There are some good articles here as well, such as "Development of the Rolls Royce Merlin Engine", which I personally found fascinating, but some might find it boring. What's more, the articles are in Adobe PDF format so you could even download and save them if you wanted to. Lots of other good stuff here, so check it out if you like.....
