Tank Treads as Suplemental Armor?
I've seen a lot of WWII pics of of Panzers and Shermans covered with Tank Tread. Were most of theses examples of, tanks crews suplementing their armor with tread from destroyed enemy vehicles, or a convient way of carrying extra tread, while suplementing armor?

You got it.. They carried the extra treads not only for replacements, and they typically carried them in places where the armor was weak.Fritzkrieg wrote:I've seen a lot of WWII pics of of Panzers and Shermans covered with Tank Tread.
