M113 in Iraq

There are other cool photos at this site (armor and aircraft, I havn't had time to look through them all), but anyone interested in the '113 should really look at this armor-supplement being used in Iraq:

Nice photos! 21c should have put that protection on the commander's hatch of their 1:18 M-113A3 to fit with the times. Also, whats with those makeshift "schurtzen"? Is the plywood filled with sand, or left hollow?
