German submarine base from WW2

Post by blaster_e11 » Fri Aug 15, 2008 2:31 pm

here are the pics of a former German submarine base from the WW2

it's in Saint Nazaire, in Southern Britany

the funny thing is this town was the last German base in France to surrender in 1945 (after the 8th of May) that is long after the liberation of France (Paris was freed by the end of August 1944)

you can see the camouflage paint in some of the pics

Great pics 8) thanks blaster_e11
The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

you're welcome Stug,

the base was composed of 14 pools holding around 20 U-boot

it's now a tourist resort and two of the pools are now part of a soy factory

Very cool...
