WWII WEEKEND IN READING PA - LOOKS VERY INTERESTING

Post by Buckyroo » Fri Feb 08, 2008 4:33 am

I was searching for information on warbirds and came across this site. It is the information page for Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's World War II Weekend. They are planning flights, static displays, re-enactments, guest speakers, and even a hanger party. It's not that far for me to travel, so I will most likely go. Just wanted to get the word out - it looks like a good event to attend.

My former reenacting unit attended the event as particpants last year for the first time. We brought out most of our equipment and vehicles and had a great time. We hope to have our Tiger replica there again this year if we get our mechanical problems with her sorted out in time, as well our our Stug III replica that we just got.

Most major reenacting groups on the East Coast try and attend this show, and you will see many incredible displays and exhibits, plus lots of vintage warbirds. It is truly a premiere show and well worth attending if you can get the chance.

For pics from last year off of the 9th's website, please follow this link:

I was at this show in 2006 and was not able to make it last year. But hope to go again this year, weather permitting.

It is a great time, I go every year...there is so much to do and look at. Bring your wallet because if you want it, you can find it at one of the many sales booths. Only real downfall, most of the vets are unable to attend anymore due to thier advanced age.
