I found a book series I've never seen...

Aero Detail. I found number 7 in the series, it's on the A6M. Holy crap this is the BEST reference on a single fighter I have EVER seen in my life. No joke. A lot is in Japanese, but it is AMAZING. Let me repeat myself, it is AMAZING!

Anyone know anymore about this series?

Also, If you live in Houston...

Go to Half Price Books on 1960 near Kueykendahl. I think that's how you spell it. It's north side, but there are about 30 of the Osprey Aircraft of the Aces books. I'm working on picking up a few every week. Someone got ahold of the Fw-190 aces before me, though... :(

They also have Squadron books, and in the hobby section, there are books on modeling tanks, and aircraft. Paint schemes, etc.

Alloyskull,
Try the other HalfPrice books locations in Houston. They all have alot of the Aircraft of the Aces books. I picked up Mustang Aces of the Eighth Air Force. Try the HalfPrice Books in Rice village or the one on Montrose/Studemont at Westhiemer. I believe that both of those stores had the FW190 Aces book. Besides, at $6 each, you can't beat the price.

Yeah, I know. Compared to twenty bucks. They have Mosquito aces, Hellcat aces, Helldiver aces, Japanese Navy, Army and Japanese something else, German night fighter aces, B-29s of the Korean War, Mustang aces of the Eigth Air Force, I got Corsair aces last night, and they have a couple others. HUGE selection.

There are tons of these modelling books by Osprey, Squadron/Signal, Verlinden, and a host of others. If you know which books and/or series you want, you can usually get some great deals on used examples in nice condition at very attractive prices from places like Amazon marketplace and Half.com. Ebay can sometimes yield good deals as well. It's not surprising these show up at used bookstores too, and even at yard sales, however, the condition of these can range from very good to horrible.
