Like the sniper who keeps on the move, the key to foiling a hostage rescue is to keep moving the hostage so to foil the intelligence that is the basis for the rescue plan. You have to act immediately I guess. There are risks in haste and waiting both it seems. There will always be the risk of the hostage(s) being killed but when dealing with these animals, facing be-headings and burning alive, in most cases the hostage is as good as dead as soon as they are taken. There certainly cannot be any rational negotiations.
