MG-34?

I've seen the MG-34 configured with 2 Ammo drums mounted on both sides of the gun. How did this work? If both drums are feeding the ammo, does, it not block the ejecting shells?

new top cover is needed, but it works, I've been meaning to pick one up for my current display MG34..future semi-auto(right now parts kit on a 80% Phil Ord receiver, later it will be used with a TWS semi auto kit)

you can find the doubles on gunbroker easy, either under a MG34 or MG15 search.

This gun ejects shells from the bottom, like the M60 (a decendent).
