And the scene in "Heartbreak Ridge" where the officer uses a civvie phone on Granada to call the U.S. to have the message forwarded back to the invasion ships, to have the invasion forces use ship gunfire to help his unit, under fire.
While HR was phony, that phone scene was based on a real life incident on Granada, that actually changed radio frequences so that after Gradada, the Marines could talk to the Navy and the Army and the Air Force. Before Granada, nobody seems to have noticed that nobody could talk to another service. Typical.....
Now, everybody can talk to everybody.......
