Odd thing on Ebay

I just lost a bid on a Sideshow WWI Trench Wall Environment display that I bid on in the last seconds. Not an odd thing in itself, only with ebays email for bid confirmed, bid lost, was also a 2nd chance offer for a 2nd of the same thing. I, of course, took it up.
The odd thing was the speed in which the offer showed up. I think these offers are now automated. I'm not worried about it being legit.
btw, thanks usmcwayne for the WWI LOA figure.

Seems to present something of a "prisoners dilemma". Two folks are bidding against each other, only to raise to bid, where each would be better off bidding low and still get the stuff. But what about the unknown third guy lurking? Arrgh!!

Chunks--be careful. I have gotten more than a few second chance offers on items in my watch list that I never bid on, which I suspect are phishing scams. And as quick as your second chance came in, it makes me wonder if the seller had a phantom bidder working to push up the price. It could all be on the up and up, too, but be careful.

Agreed. I am vary wary of second chance offers. The trench sounds awesome though.

Well, this is what it is,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=014
There was only 200 made available. Which was what made me amazed that one place would have two for sale. However, I recently tried to get an Armoury 1/6 modern Bundeswehr Para from Hong Kong only to find out that their inventory was wrong and none were available. Very much by accident I found a place a place in Canada that had 4 in stock!!! What'ya do??
