Hello All,
We're expecting a shipment of the 1:18 scale M48A3 Patton tank. Not sure if these were previously available anywhere else besides Walmart. Anyway, it comes in olive drab, is made of both metal and plastic, and can be viewed here.

Not to be a fuddy-duddy, but shouldn't these announcements be in the BST area?

I understand what lighting was trying to do (I think). Part of it was to announce that the M48's were coming to the small retailers which _was_ actual new 1:18 news. (Great news in fact for anyone that wasn't able to find them at WM since they only sent 1 to each store. There are many similar posts in the main forums.)

The other half was that _he_ specifically had them for sale.

My suggestion, post once in each location so no one questions the intent. That is what several of the other folks do. :)

Hi,
Thanks for the tip. We usually dont post an item that's about to come in but rather discuss it when its first announced so you can decide for yourself where to purchase this item. We posted it in the 1:18 scale section partly because we had accepted pre-orders about a year or so ago when it was first announced and wanted to let those people know that it was finally materializing. Anyway, no biggie if you find this item elsewhere. We're just happy its not some apparition courtesy of Halloween!

Hmmm....well, possibly in your neck of the woods they only got one per store, but my local WM had at least 5 of them (I know because I personally bought four) and another store in my AO had at least two that I know of. At any rate, it is a nice tank, I just wish the main gun would elevate and depress more like the real thing, to me this is a major disappointment in this model.

<<< >>> Then why did you buy 4 ???? ........ This is why I passed up on the 2nd. release. I could'nt get passed it's toyish looks and one of the biggest parts (The Missing-Snorkle ?) despite it's (part-metal) die-cast weightiness.

Kept one for myself, which is currently on display, and sold the others to boardmembers who had asked me to pick them up for them. I didn't own the S1 version so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I don't think it looks "toyish" personally, but the limited elevation/depression of the main gun is a different story, I think that is a major flaw and I can't understand why it was necessary.
