MEMBERS TO STAY AWAY FROM

There appears to me new lurkers on the boards, attempting to initiate scams. As always, exercise extreme caution doing deals. DO NOT trade with people who email you directly. They must pm first and be ACTIVE members for at least 6 months. Don't be suckered by stories about forgetting passwords and account being inactive for some reason etc. If they don't pm you, don't even think about dealing with them. Even if they do pm you first there is no gaurantee they are ligitimate....proceed into all deals with extreme caution. I strongly advise against giving out your email address in trade posts. Only give it out to people once they pm you.

Partial list of names to stay away from:

*1:18 Pathfinder
*Tempest66 (claims to be a member with inactive account....no such account ever registered....current email address is [email protected] )

I'm sure this list will grow over time. Re-read the above caution and the safe trading rules and safe trading tips Announcement threads before doing any deals. As always, you proceed at your own risk.

I concur with MG-42.....one cannot be too cautious. If any of the newer members are unsure about a potential "deal", a PM to any one of the older/seasoned members might be a good route to take. Sticking together should be a very common thread on the board.

Bring on the new 1/18 airplanessssssssssssssssss,

I must agree. Taking these extra precautions makes it tougher on new members, but it also serves to filter out the problems. You can't be too careful..
