It is missing the left wing with attachments. The seller strategically left that out of the description. When I inquired he said you get what you see. :?

So, missing an entire wing plus attachments is considered "excellent condition"?

I consider that "broken".

Yea I saw this auction before Skorzeny kindly posted it. I sent the guy a message thinking that at the price he was asking it had to be compete and he had just missed putting the part on. The reply matched his “as pictured” description and he didn’t post my question to his auction. That tells me he’s hoping some poor fellow wont notice it and he can hide behind that description if a problem arises. Not a flat out lie but certainly a bit deceptive is you ask me. He’s crazy if he thinks its worth that price missing a major component like that. This is a $65 helicopter.

Looking at this posting from a lot of angles. As a strong believer of what comes around goes around (Karma I think its called no?), I gotta guess that anyone that would sell the Cobra in that condition and (1) call it Excellent and (2) make an obvious effort to hide known flaws that that boomerang will eventually come back to haunt him in some way or another. I'm also left scratching my head as I've had both a Cobra and a Huey I've wanted to sell but don't know enough about 'em to even know what's missing. How many pictures is enough to show what the real state of the plane/helicopter etc actually is? One night as I'm about to put it up for sale I read a thread with no less than 15 entries where complaints were made about a missing part. What was it? A pitot tube. So there I am for the next hour doin' google searches for where pitot tubes (might) be located on helicopters.

Not sure if this is the right place to put my 2 cents (and if not, forum masters please delete) but if there is anyone who can give me a hand on what I picked up while buyin' a tank a while back that would be great. I've sent a few members here a request for some help but never heard back.

John

No they are not rare. They were all over the place when they first came out and you can still easily locate one. There were only 2 versions made and they never made more so over time the price has gone up considerably. Collectors seem to like them so they usually command higher prices on eBay. This particular one was listed without disclosing the fact that is was missing a wing. The seller just had pictures and left it up to you to figure out. The buyer probably didn’t notice it was gone. This was a $50 helicopter. You can’t replace that part.
